i am changing from auto on colunm to the floor does it require a shift cable or the shift rod. how do you make the reverse lights work.
i would guess it depends on the shifter you use. i have a b&m megashifter. it uses a cable and has the neutral safety switch and the reverse light switch built into it. you just cut the wires and switch them to the shifter.
if you want the rev light and all to work i think its takes 2 rods and you might need the floor shift column for it to work right
On every C-4 setup I have seen there is a reverse switch that is mounted to the shifter arm on the tranny. They are very common and available aftermarket.
On a stock floor shift, the trans lever is reverse direction mounted, operated with a rod and a different switch used.
