Can anyone tell me the location of the floor shifter. All I have is a doner hump from a mustang and it has a square hole in it. If anyone could measure there car and post it that would be great. I will post pictures when I start on it. Thanks.

Are you using a FACTORY Maverick/Comet automatic floor shifter?

If so, here is a thread that I started about this subject:

    http://www.maverick.to/mmb/showthread.php?t=76015

I have some pictures in this thread, which also shows a tape measure, and reference points on the floor pan. Other members posted comments and pictures too about this.

Keep in mind, that my car did not come with a stock factory auto floor shifter and hump...So I was mocking my shifter hump up for a later install.

Also, If you are using the FACTORY automatic floor shifter, your location may be slightly off if you are using a MUSTANG shifter hump, because the humps are not the same. The Maverick/Comet floor shifter humps were shaped to snug up to a certain spot on the floor pan hump, and their intended purpose was to provide additional strength to the floor pan, due to the stress of the floor shifter mechanism being attached to the floorpan, as opposed to just the tranny, as the manual floor shifters are.

I actually cut a section out if the center hump 69 mustang so i could form and make my own hump. I was just looking for the shifters hole location. It looks like the pictures in the other thread are going to be just the ticket for locating the shifter. Measure twice cut ones. lol. Thanks for the feed back. By the way I am doing this to a 69.5 so the hump is a little different.
