    I have a 74, 2dr Maverick with a 250 6cyl and a c4
the car runs great but on the highway seems like the engine is running a little too high rpm not to mention poor fuel economy.
I'm curious if I could swap in an AOD.

AOD swap on a 250 is much the same as doing it on a 302. The only difference is you will need a 164 tooth automatic flexplate from a 300. Everything else is the same as for a V8 AOD swap.

would that be the same as taking a manual trany from a 250 and putting it on a 302, except the flex ofcourse.

Tunnel should be no problem. Driveshaft will probably need to be shortened 1". Crossmemeber will need to be modified/replaced. TV cable hooked up, new shift linkage, coolant lines slightly different.
