how hard is it to do a AOD swap from a C4. what all needs to be done to do this? what has others done about the t.v. cable for the line pressure for a carb set up.i want to use the factory floor shift set up does it need to be monkey with alot to make it work
My driveshaft from my C4 fit just fine with no modifications, as have allot of other people, but there are a few people that have had to shorten theirs. I did use franks AOD crosmember, it works great and it is high quality. As for the factory floor shift, the shift pattern is different between the C4 and the AOD, you can modify the C4 to work, I had to drill the hole further up on the shaft about 1/2" and bend the rod to fit,(I got the drilling it up off of one of the mustang sites that used the same floor shifters). I tried setting it up with a stock TV cable from Ford, and then the stock mechanical linkage from a early 80's ford pickup truck (it would probably have worked if I was retaining the Autolite 2100) but in the end I bought a Lokar TV cable and adaptor that fits on my carb.
