I bought an original 8200 mile 70 Maverick from Classic Auto Showplace in Detroit and I was wondering if any of you knew the car or had seen it. It was sold to me as 8200 actual miles, but I am trying to verify. The dealer said there was "documentation" but nothing came with the car when I got it here in California. I'm working to try to get them to come through, but wondered if anyone might know of the car personally. I think when I first posted it up here I was asked if it came from Detroit, so somebody knew about it. Thanks. Jody
Nice Car but I hope your reserve is not your buy it now price. Good luck with it. It would make a nice car for some one. Jerryfow2
Camcojb, No offense and its just my opinion, but with out documentation of the miles your looking at a 3500-5500 car. Trust me I have been looking at your car on e-bay for the last 2 days salavating over it but these cars are not Mustangs (thank God). Super clean cars can bring big money but usually these are Grabbers or Stallions or really good clones of these cars. I really did not mean to offend just voicing my opinion. I love these cars and I perfer stock Mavs over modified ones but the value of a stock Mav is low compared to the value of a nicely modified one. I can and am often wrong. I hope I am on this one and you get all your looking for. Good luck on your auction. Thanks Jerryfow2
Well, I was originally looking for a Mopar project, and sent my friend to the place that had this car looking at a Barracuda. It turned out to be a bit more work than I wanted, but he saw this Maverick when he was leaving, totally caught his eye enough to stop and look. They had several offers and I made a couple and bought the car. I was fine until a friend came across a Mopar that just screamed "buy me". Another original paint car, super clean. So I debated a few days and decided the Dodge was more what I was really looking to do for my next project, so I bought it and am selling the Mav. Have three projects now which is too many (still finishing up a twin turbo LS2 Chevelle). If it doesn't sell I'll gladly keep it, it's getting very tough and rare to find the cars this clean and un-abused. Original paint is a big deal to me with these older cars because I've seen too many really clean cars that when stripped turned out to be a disaster, and the sheetmetal repair and replacement far exceeds the cost of getting a known entity like original paint.
