First car to hit the new LIFT.....time to strip the good parts off the comet. this one is the one that was burried in the woods and when I got it on the trailer noticed it had front and rear disc brakes and then what looked to be a 9" pumpkin:yup: I want to get this thing out and dressed up to go under the grabber project but I also want to get rear disc with the e-brake setup which this doesnt have.

Anyone know what this beast is?

Little harder to see through all of the rust and weathering but it sure looks the same as my Lincoln Versaille 9 inch rear. :thumbs2:

Lincoln Versailles. It was the only leaf sprung 9" disc brake rear. Also sometimes found on the Granada and Monarch

Check the gear ratio - those Versailles only had crazy high gears in them. Mine had something like 2.50's in it.

    Really nice find

those dont look like versailles calpers. they dont have parking brakes on them. they are probly a conversion that uses some front calipers.

The front Granada calipers fit right on the Versailles rear with no problem. If I remember correctly I had to use the inside brake pad from the Versailles rear set and the outside brake pad from the Granada front set for it to work right. I think it had to do with the inside Granada pad hitting the Versailles caliper frame.

The original rear parking brake calipers were hopelessly frozen and, at the time, I could not find anything new or rebuilt.
