I have the engine from an 86 towncar in my maverick. The engine is not original to the towncar though. I have heard it was from a t bird but not sure. I know it is a roller cam. I was wondering if there was a way to id what the engine is from

There is no way to tell what vehicle it was originally installed in. The block casting numbers aren't an indication of the vehicle application. Same blocks were used in all applications. Stang, T-Bird, Cougar, Towncar, Marquis, F150, E150's F250's, yada, yada, yada.....................all used the same block
