I drove my Maverick for the first time today since I unloaded it from the hauler last summer. I need to mark this date on my calendar as a milestone day!

All I can say is...WHAT A BLAST :yahoo:

Here's a few pics of how it turned out. I worked hard to give it the sleeper stock look. I don't think I'll come across too many people that will know that a 302 wasn't available in 70, so I should be able to pull off the factory look.

The entire drive train came out of a 22K mile 71 Maverick, so it still has all of the factory stickers and ink stamps intact.

I can't wait to drive it to the first cruise in later this month. It's time to enjoy it after a long winter of thrashing to get it done.

Wow! That's a really nice car, you should be very proud. :thumbs2:
But, you'll need a fan shroud, before it gets too hot out.

I agree with you on that. I'll be moving the fan closer to the radiator and adding a shroud in the very near future.

You can buy a reproduction of the longer spacer, I've seen them advertised in Mustang Monthly.

Wow! That interior is pristine! I am used to seeing decent looking cars from the exterior, but to see interior that nice is a real treat!

Mine was like that when I got it. Sometimes I wish I had left it alone rather than gutting it out to make it more "modern". Now it looks like crap. At least until I finish this Frankenstein's monster.

I'm such a sucker for 70's plaid. When I saw the interior color scheme, I vowed that I would keep it all original. I haven't seen too many of the red and black plaid combination. I don't know if it was a common color scheme, but I really like it against the white exterior.

I love the way it looks under the hood. Much better that a bunch of a/m stuff to me. I and really dig the plaid. I miss my plaid but I think I'll like my buckets better.
