Well, after a long, hard decision, I let my brother remove all of the turbo headers and everything so he could bracket race my '74. He built his own engine and I used some of the parts from the turbo motor in the engine I'm building for my stocker mustang (245,000 original miles lol). Anyway, he went 2 rounds today before a coil problem caused a slight miss from 5500-up and couldn't run the dial in. Ran a best of 10.94 in the 1000', never worse than a .550 light, no better than a .530. Look out!
myself, I went out 4th round against a roadster. I REALLY need larger tires as my 60's were all over the place. Track was hot and greasy, too and that did not help. Been a long time since I've had drive the car with the right foot....and keep it out of the guardrails. Reminds me of driving a sprint car! Old Guy went 3 rounds, racing me in the 3rd..I won by .00009 second! Glad to see bro back in bracket racing--he was one tough cookie when he drove dad's fairmont, I'm sure he'll be just as tough in the Mav!

    Hey, .....

...tell Old Guy to get back on here. I think that he got a little ticked when there were problems with the hosting server
for the board. Apparently some of his post were deleted and he thought that it was a personal thing.

Stefan explained it but I haven't seen a post from OldGuy since then.

He was a good guy and a great source for information.

It's interesting that you bring up Old Guy, I miss seeing him around on the board as well; so I emailed him this weekend. It sounds like he has been busy on some of the other boards and busy with his sons racing etc. He said he would like to return to the board when time allowed.

I think there may have been a misunderstanding early on, but I don't there are any hard feelings. He just sounds busy.

I think it would great if some of you emailed him as well, encourage him to 'drop in' on the board, and let him know that his input etc. is appreciated here. I always appreciated his insight and experience.

I think he will come around eventually, but maybe sooner if more of us email him.

    Re: Old Guy

Without giving away his actual email adddy, Dave (Old Guy)
can be reached by sending an email through this board at

    http://mmb.maverick.to/member.php?s=&action=mailform&userid=15

Dave is a HUGE wealth of knowledge and I also miss his input.
He's helped me and others out too MANY times to count.

I'll be sending him a note asking about his health and asking him
    to visit us more often.

    'Hope you do the same.
