    I've had a few
Put some wheels on this morning that I've had laying around for a while. I got these for 50 bucks off a guy my dad worked with back in July of last year. I had them on my '74 Grabber for about a month before takeing them back off as that car had alot of front end issues and wider front tires were only makeing the problem worse. I decided to stick them on the '72 this morning and see what they looked like. I have a full set of 4 but the 4th one is miss matched and dosen't fit the car (to much back spaceing). The front ones have about the maximum amount of back spaceing you can have with 16's, there is very little clearence with the upper ball joint. The one rear wheel has less back spacing and fits perfect.

The tiny front tires came on the wheels and are WAY to small. I haven't had time or money up until now to get them swapped out. But my dad is going to let me swap the tires with the ones on my mom's Taurus I wrecked before they come haul it off. (y) Obviously I need to buff the wheels and get some chrome lug nuts. I think I'm going to put maybe 3/8ths spacers on the front and slightly longer studs just to get them out a little farther. They are real close to hitting the upper ball joint.

edit: just checked, the front wheels have 4 7/8ths back spacing and the rear wheel has 4 inches exactly.

I agree, they give the car a whole new attitude. Now just to get some decent tires on them and find a matching rear wheel! I also think it's high time to cut about a half coil or so off the front springs. Just to kind of set it down a little.

    Love em!!!

I have heard that the difference between a "granny grocery getter" and a hot rod is a decent set of rims. Even with my cheap, bent, scratched, and rusty Cragar S/Ss, my car changed drastically in appearance overnight.

Torque Thrusts-possibly the best looking aftermarket wheel ever.

I'm not sure if I believe it and I'm the one that put it together! :biglaugh: I'll never forget, me and Clint pulled it out of his back yard with a rideing lawn mower. :D

We tried pulling mine out that same way, all the mower would do was spin! It had rained and the ground was wet. We ended up using his old 4wd to pull it around to the trailer.

I love the TTII's on just about anything. I bought a set of 17's for my old 71 LeMans when they first started making them...had to wait 3 months but it was worth it, the difference it made was ridiculous. That was back in 1998 or 99. Only thing though and I dont know if it applies to Mavericks since they dont weigh as much as a Pontiac LeMans, but dont go with probably anything less than a 45 series sidewall. I bent the living crap outta my front rims and completely split a tire one time. I've heard of alot of people bending them. I dont know if it is because of the heavier cars or because the rims just are not that strong. Either way watch out for the potholes :yikes: they will ruin your day. I would still buy another set regardless.

your Maverick looks great with them!
