Anyone using the edelbrock 8843 aluminum water pump? It appears to have a longer snout than the stock iron 77 water pump. We need to find a serpentine pulley that will work with the new aluminum edelbrock pump. It needs to be about 1/2 inch deeper than the current pulley. Any ideas?

Damn! That is decent money for something that doesn't fit. Did Edelbrock say it fit? If so, I would be giving them a call and letting them know what fer!

Hate to tell you this, but you could have saved about $100 just by buying a stock aluminum water pump at Autozone, Advance, Kragens, etc. The mid 88 to 91 Crown Vics had a std rotation aluminum water pump.

Thanks Baddad, I think the serpentine pulley is from an 88-91 CV. It' for a friends car but still frustrating that Edelbrock indicates it is a replacement for 70-78! Clearly not the same dimensions as the original!

If it's a std rotation pulley, it's either from that application of the earlier one used in the Vics and/or T-Bird FEAD that used a combination flat belt/V-belt setup. Not sure though if these two applications used the same pulley, I just do know they're different setups from each other. There were only three waterpump shaft lengths used on 302's. One is the std length used on the std rotation pumps, then there's two lengths used on the 88-93 T-Bird/SN95 FEAD and the other used on the Explorer/Mountaineer 5.0 FEAD

Sounds like they packaged the wrong pump. I'm running Crown Vic pulleys on mine, just had to space out the 3G alternator to get the pulleys to align.
