The plenum box that goes between the center dash vent and the blower housing is very loose at both the vent and the blower. It looks like there was once a foam seal on both ends of the plenum that prevented air leaks and held everything snugly in place. Is this the only thing that holds the plenum in place or am I missing something else? Advise on what to use to get everything to fit would be hugely appreciated.
Yes there is FOAM that is used as a sealant (see pix) Does your center plenum have "ears" on it like this one does (off of a 1977).
No. Either a 73 didn't have the tabs or they broke off. Should my year have them? If so what do they attach to.
I don't think a 1973 had the tabs. I tried to find a picture of an earlier style.....but could not. At least I could show you what the foam looked like. LOL
