Anyone using an aftermarket balancer? My engine rebuild guy bought one for my 302 and installed it, BUT, when I try and bolt the pulley to it, it is about 3/4 inch too shallow. This one is flat across the front, where the original balancer has a built in spacer to mount the pulley to.

Is there a supplier for the stock harmonic balancer?

I bought a Professional Products brand balancer. And just because you buy the balancer, don't think all is done. There were 4 different spacers that were available to make it fit the various setups of engines.

So, it is likely that a spacer is all you need.

Just watch the timing marks, Ford used 3 different sets, most aftermarket balancers only come marked with 2 of the 3, and of course, the Maverick engines, had the timing pointer in the location, to use with the 3rd set of numbers.
