I was just wondering what all it took to do a 8"- 8.5" 5.0 mustang rear end conversion. I'm thinking about getting a used 8.5" posi rearend out of a mustang as a cheaper slightly stronger alternitive to getting a posi for my 8" factory maverick rearend. I'm also thinking of doing susspension work while I'm putting the new rear-end in, I know a master susspension guy so there wouldn't be a problem putting in some funky suspension work.

My wheels are 15x7 with +2mm offset. Right now with the stock rearend I have 1/4 inch spacers in so that my tires don't rub on the leaf springs around corners, so if the mustang rearend is longer by a bit it'll work out well.

    thanks for the help

Consider using an 8.8 out of a leaf sprung Explorer.
