What is the best way to kick up my hp a little bit in my ol' comet. I currenly have a dual exhaust system, edelbrock air filter, and a 4barrel Holley Carb. What else can i do to the engine with out spending 3k on a turbo?

a good set of aluminum heads and a cam will give you a really nice gain in power.

3K on a turbo? lol you can get top of the line Precisions for under a grand.... brand spanking new too! Heck this one below is under $600 and it'll make enough HP to split a block in half...

But yeah like Bryant said "Heads + Cam" is the best bang for the buck.
You can also bump up the comp ratio with the heads, which is another big plus!

    -maverick75, does this turbo fit into a 73 comet with a 302?

It fits.... but it's not bolt in at all, no one makes turbo kits for our cars.

So you'll either have to make your own kit or have someone make you one.

"Heads+ cam" is the easy proven route to boost HP.

I agree with Bryant. If you can't afford the heads, at least do a cam, lifter, and valve spring upgrade.
Also, get a good double roller timing chain and gears set.
This Comp Cams part # 31-414-3 is a good one. The cam has .500 lift and 270* duration.
This cam is as big as I would go, with a stock converter. Any more duration, with a stock converter, and drivability would go down the tubes.
I know for a fact, that it works well with a stock converter and heads.
A co-worker of mine has this one in his stock 302 with stock E7TE heads and stock torque converter.
Here is a link to the kit on ebay.
There is also step below this one and it has .456 lift and 268* duration. The part # is 31-218-2
