Got a 73 sedan about 5 yesr ago for my older son. 31,000 miles original, $600. Has a 250 L6, runs great. He took it to school in FL and came back t them hereall rusted up. Hood is shot, fenders and quarters need work. Decided to go for it. My younger son and I are dropping in a 60 over 302 with Eldebrocks 2121 and matching cam. The machine shop is swapping out the ford springs for chevy valve springs when they do the long block. We have a Holley 600 and fresh C4 with a shift kit and 2000 TC. We originally thought the motor was a 351w (it came from a 78 LTD with that sticker) turns out ot be a 302 factory rebuilt (must have been replaced by Ford years ago). Anyone need a Eldebrock 2181 Intake? Good news is we can put headers on. Any thoughts on the Summit brand headers? Price is great and only $11 to get them here. Any suggestions on a replacement floor shifter? If we go with the headers the column is gone. Trying to figure out what the best set up is for the thrid member. It currently has an open end rear with whatever gears came with the 250 L6. Does anyone want the 250 L6. Now has about 61,000 miles and still runs great. The exhaust manifold has a crack in the very front. The C4 in it is also up for grabs, but it slips pretty good between 1 and 2. Any suggestions to make our mom&pop car cool would be greatly appreciated. We live about 25 miles north of Philadelphia PA. Thankx to everyone on here for the invaluable information. Who else would think to talk about this stuff...
73 mav 4 door project I have just recently purchased a 4 door 73 Mav as a donor car for my 71 Mav 2dr. The 73 is in great shape and i will probably have numerous parts left over from the 73 if you are interested kg0220
