I would be suprised if one shows up.
I personaly don't see putting a Comet thru that. The best stripe in my opinion is the '73 GT stripes.

On the Green GT I'm going to use the '72 stripes because it's getting mostly restored, but on the Red GT I'm going to use the '73 stripes since it's getting restomodded. I like the '73 stripes a little better myself.

I actually am thinking along the lines of adapting a "Grabber-ish" stripe to mine (no wheel arches, though). It will have elements of what Mercury was doing at the time on other models ... half solid, half open.

What steers me in this direction is that it has always looked to me like the earliest GT stripes have looked to me like they were just slapped on to match some of the other models out there ... Cougar, Cyclone, etc., without much thought to the body lines of the car. They just cut the car up visually. I agree that 73-on stripes were an improvement, but if the early stripe was incorporated into the beltline of the car, it would have really looked the best.

I did some graphics of this idea, but they died with my previous computer ...

Yeah I'm thinking there is something else to do maybe something with the Brazilian maverick type but with Comet theme. Come you Comet guys somebody get the creative juices flowing and come up with something. :thumbs2:

I'd like to see the '68-69 Cyclone stripes on a Comet.
