I just bought my first Maverick. It has a 302 and auto transmission plus A/C. First thing I gotta do is stop the surface rust since it has baked Texas paint. I just ordered rust remover and primer from Eastwood. I never used their stuff, so I hope they have good products. Next item that needs attention are the back brakes. It currently has none. Sounds like springs from a E-150 are also needed since my car has air shocks installed by the previous owner. I am looking forward to working on this little hotrod and just wanted to say hello to fellow enthusiasts.
Welcome From Panama City, Florida......sounds like you know what you want to do to it and you know how to do it.......been lurking huh? pics are a good thing!!
Welcome to the board. Might want to do a search on here about air shocks. They seem to bring their own set of problems to a Maverick/Comet.
I did read about the air shocks. The previous owner had just installed them. So there aren't many miles on them. I aired them down until I can get new springs and rear brakes. I will only be moving it around my property til then.
