    Hey guys!
I just got my first 71 Maverick to restore about six months ago and I'm currently working on it. I need some help with the rims and tire sizes so I get it right the first time. I would like to know if there's an aluminum rim that will fit my 5-lug 8" that I can use from a later model car with the right backspace and size. I would like to fit the biggest widest tire without cutting or rubbing for the best traction. Please school me on this subject. I'm also looking for a double hump trans. cross member too, so if you have one forsale e-mail me with the price and a phone# I can reach you at. Not sure how this web site works for messages so please e-mail me at jakaroo@tampabay.rr.com Thank-you Guy's! Bob

Almost all newer model wheels have way too much backspace to work on the Maverick.

    best best would be 15x8 with 4.5 bs with a 255 60-15
some say they fit a 275-60 15 but i guess that'll bepend on how youre car sits from the old socks/springs..
    and 15x7 with 4.25 bs with 235-60 15s

I am in Dunedin too. I just put Clearwater in my avatar because more people will know where that is.
