Hey guys, I'm getting ready to swap my C4 for a T5 out of a '95 Stang. I just have a few questions if anyone can help. 1) Exactly how much do I need to have my driveshaft shortened? 2) What starter is compatible with the T5 setup, and 3) Does anyone have a maverick clutch pedal setup that they'd be willing to part with at a reasonable price? thanks. -Clint

I would think that reasonable is generally lower for the buyer and higher for the seller! :)

not quite sure... I know of a salvage yard out here that has a couple of them, but I figured I'd try and keep my money circulating with people of similar automotive interests. So..... how much do you usually ask for these parts?

Well I swapped a 1995 Cobra trans in my Maverick and it was a real pain. I would definitely recommend getting a 83-93 T-5 if you can. The clutch fork location on the 94-95 bellhousing will not work on a Mav. Now it's not hard to convert a 94-95 to the shorter input shaft, all you need is the input shaft and retainer.

Now for another Q, how are you going to make this work? Cable? Mech linkage? Adapter plate or T-5 bellhousing? Make sure you know your options.

Ford Racing sells a couple aluminum driveshafts for Mustangs. One Fox body and one for 94-5 Mustangs. One of these should work, measure and see. Their dimensions are in the catalog. The bonus is they are pretty cheap, a good performance part, and come with a t-5 yoke. You really can't beat the price of these things, its less than $200 including yoke. To buy yoke, u-joints, and have your's shortened it would be close to that and then you'd still have a steel driveshaft too.

I'm going to be running a cable set-up with the aluminum quadrant, and thanks to BlownMav's instructions, I think I'll do ok. Well, I'll have to wait to see if the tranny is a t5 or a t45. If by chance it is a t45, will it still fit ok and is it strong enough to handle mild street power?
