the 351's flywheel does fit inside this tran's bell housing should i just swap them? will my shifterlinkage still all work and can i keep the tq converter? http://www.maverick.to/mmb/showthread.php?t=47651
i dont think the big bell will fit in our cars i know i had an issue with this some years ago in a '67 Mustang. just find a good used 302 157T flywheel.... should be several out there
I thought I heard here somewhere that the 351w's were 28 oz imbalance like the pre '82 302s. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
The first two years of production the 289 used a different imbalance - I don't remember off the top of my head but I remember the early C4s had a special balance on the flex plates that is not compatible with the 70 Maverick.
thanks Paul, i did not know this would this be consistant with the 5 bolt bellhousing models of the 289 since they're the earliest?
