Does the stock air cleaner assembly fit under the hood with that big old 351 w or c? just wondering if my friend should trade his grabber hood for a flat one with a comet scoop
you wont be able to fit a big enough filter for a 351 under a stock hood. ive played with lots of different filter sizes, and for each inch incresed in hight there was a noticeable seat of the pants power increase. that was on a mild 302 and verified on a 350 chevy. if your puting a 351 in a maverick i would hope its built other wise its not worth the effort when you could put good heads on a 302 and have more power than the 351. get as big as a filter as you can.
When i drive my car(302) everyday it has a 14x3 filter when im seriously play'n it has no hood and a 14x6 filter and ya can feel the difference,so id go bigger filter no matter what
