    Always a pain, right?

Tell ya what, changed a set yesterday in less then 20 mins.

Used a standard spark plug socket (with the 3/4' hex on the top) and a new flex head "gearwrench" , Man O Man what a easy job with this wrench.Best new tool in some time!

I would love to see a photo of that wrench so I can identify it in a store someday!

    Thanks!

    Nah, changing plugs on a 302 is easy, try a 390 or a 460.

I've been eyeing those flex-head gear wrenches.. There's always one of my plugs that I have to use a wrench on the spark plug socket because I can't get the ratchet on. Normally I spend an hour changing plugs at least.

You must be referring to a 390 or 460 in a mav. never have a prob with the 390 in my high boy. the hardest part is climbing up into the engine compartment:D

A hour? Am I doing something wrong? Even with the old heads (large plug) it was a 30 min job. Now wih the Edelbrocks (5/8 plug) I can opull them all to check for mixture in 20 mins or les. #2 is the only difficult one for me. (on the old large plugs I did grind down the socket to make it a thin-wall. Too cheap to buy one)

So is it a ratchet on the boxed end?

That F250 must have been a newer model then. Cuz I can sit under the hood on the inner fender of my '71 like a park bench. :D

My grandpa's '78 Bronco is the same way.

the real problem was that the previous owner put some kind of sheet metal to protect the boots but it gets in the way-and to remove it you would have to remove the manifolds
