I had 2.79 gears and felt a very noticeable difference with 3.25 gears. I think everyone here will ask you what the purpose of your car will be. Mine is a daily driver. I have a T5 so we think I can still go up a little on my gears.

i like 3.25s for cars that are mostly stock.
to give beter advice i need more info on your car and intended use.
what is the hight of your rear tire in inches?
    what transmission do you have?
    what motor do you have?
what modifications to the motor do you have?
where do you do most of your driving, street or highway?

theengine is stock for now with only bolt ons such as weiand action-plus,600 holley ,mallory unilite, doug thorley headers and a c-4 tranny .I plan to do a rebuild later on usinf afr 165 heads,9.5-1 comp, same carb but may upgrade to weiand sealth intake and a flat tappet cam such as the comps 262 extreme line cam and use a mild convertor 2500 stall .I will try to use a 275-60 series tire ,i want a fun car easy to drive but yet still very strong .i wont hardly see much dragstrip at all

ok ill assume its a 302
275 60 15 tires are usually between 27 to 29 inches tall depending on the brand.
if your tires are closer to 29"s i would recomend the 3.40s.
if your tires are closer to 26"s i would recomend 3.25s.

How much highway driving do you do? If you spend any amount of time a freeway speeds then the 3.25 is definitely the way to go.

If this car is not a daily driver, and you are going to rebuild the engine including the 2500 stall, I recommend 3.55 ... or taller.

My first thought is 3.25 or 3.40...
However, you have 2 factors that stand out for me:
The very tall tire you are considering and the possible 2500 rpm stall.
Both of these will dictate a lower gear.
If the car needs to retain fuel economy and highway driving, then 3.55 is probably the only choice...
