Can I use a 1991 Fuel injected and change it to Carbureted for my 1970 maverick and is there something i need to do with the water pump, cam or my c4
Just a new intake manifold. Water pump, cam, and trans won't know the difference (unless you tell them, so be quiet when you do it!!!
now if you change the pullys to the older style V belt you will have to swap the water pump because it's a reverse rotation water pump WELCOME FROM Sacramento CA and if you want to run a manual fuel pump you would have to put the older timing cover on it or you could run a electric fuel pump just make sure you put it in the back by the gas tank because thoes pump's push the fuel beter than they can suck it
Just wanted to add don't forget the eccentric on the camshaft timing gear to drive the fuel pump if doing it this way
Depends on what application the 5.0 is from. The Crown Vic, Lincoln Towncar and Merc Marquis never used a reverse rotation pump.
The Vic setup uses the same flat ribbed belts as the serpentine does, but by definition isn't a serpentine setup. It's often confused with a serpentine setup but the pump is std rotation like a V-belt
You need a front sump oil pan, A timing cover with the dipstick for front sump and the oil pick up for the front sump pan. That will give you the option for the use of a mechanical fuel pump. With the fuel pump You will need the cam excentric. I am finding that it gets even more interesting from there.
