I recently purchaced a solid 1970 Maverick for $900. I want to change the bolt pattern from 4 to 5 in order to have front disc brakes. I have found a 1972 Mach I Mustang in a junk yard for $550. Will this be a simple task of just pop and swap, or will there be more involved? I am not knowledgeable on the inner works of automechanics nor auto body, but I am mechanically inclined and have lots of friends. The Mustang also has a 302 with a 3 speed tranny.
the front brakes will work for you. the rear ones wont. you will need to change the rear with 5 lug 8" from a maverick to keep the same width.
The seats can be made to fit with some modifications to the mounts. The dash doesn't just bolt in. It should be the same width but would require substantial modification to work.
