Thanks Bob, We have a good donor hood, just need to find a competent body guy to do the work. This ones a little beyond our skill set.
Picked up a Grabber hood for the son's car today. Has a good size dent in the front, but for $35 who can complain!
Are you sure the lower hose isn't collapsing with the engine under load?
There are two styles of crossmembers, one for single exhaust and one for dual. The 250 and 302 C4s are dimensionally the same.
You will need a flexplate or flywheel with the newer 50oz. balance weight as opposed to the older 28oz. of the 70's.

The 5.0 blocks are also missing the boss for column shift linkage. If you run an electric pump and floor shifter these won't be a problem.
