And so does my '69 428 Cobra Jet Fairlane, big deal... 'Cept for the upper ball Joints, at 107K mi it still has all it's original front end components, never had a issue(I've owned that car 41 years), same '69 parts with Torino disc brakes are now under my Comet... Sounds to me like someone was searching for a solution to a imaginary problem, bearing/spindle size is a non issue unless you're maybe into road racing...
Woooah .... I'm new here man, I read it here somewhere Anyway, I'm not too worried about it. Just hope this thing is as decent as he claims on the phone, or I'm towing an Impala there and back for nothing ...
Sorry Chief, my statement wasn't directed at anyone in particular, just something that pops up from time to time that I consider a total fallacy... Yes the components were used on '66-'69 Falcons but they were up graded to Fairlane suspension in '66, NOT the other way around... Mustang/Cougar got same in '67, those & Fairlane/Cyclone often had big blocks setting on between the shock towers... EDIT I just checked and the '65-'69 full size models(that would include a 4500Lb, nine passenger, Country Squire sta wagon)used the same "Falcon" bearings... Whoever came up with this "not substantial enough for a Maverick" didn't have a clue what they were talking about...
Yep but don't believe everything you read on the net, as I said that "Falcon" suspension is actually '66-'69 Fairlane/Torino/Cyclone or '67-'69 Mustang/Cougar suspension... No one I know with these vehicles have issues keeping them aligned and that includes big blocks... To think a flyweight 6cyl Maverick was having issues is totally ridiculous...
