I'm pulling the steering column from a 70 parts car for one of the forum members and I'm scratching my head on disconnecting the rag joint.

I'm down to one rounded off bolt on the firewall cover plate and the rag joint. The rounded off bolt just needs a few more cuss words, but I'm stymied by the rag joint. Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

The rag joint is coupled to the steering column flange by two 1/4" bolts, only need a 7/16" wrench and ratchet with socket to remove it... It is held in place on the steering sector by the one 12 point cross bolt, must be fully removed to slide off...

take the bolts out of the rag joint unbolt the steering column inside the car and unplug the harness and pull on it cut the rounded off bolt off with a die grinder
