Hi all, have gleamed some info off this site when my wife bought a 72 maverick hot rod for herself this spring. Factory 302 car, had a built 289 in it that destroyed itself on thanksgiving due to a cracked piston (see avatar).

this was right when i was lowering the front end a bit. cammed, c4, edelbrock intake, carter afb, etc etc. Now getting a 71 302 that's going to be way hotter. came out of a twin engined v drive racing boat with motors built by holman and moody (not kidding). cant wait.

(Shelly taking her first drive in it early summer. she also has a 2011 mustang commuter and a legit 07 Nissan 350 NISMO that's been warmed over a bit. And an 09 triumph street triple):drive:

    SO...

Spotted a second 'parts' car a few mos ago. did some networking and figured who owned it. 76 2 door with a 250 I6 and C4. well, looked at it, and closed the deal on it Friday. Got a hell of a deal on it i think, 500 bucks, and runs and drives. needs massive tuneup but did a nice powerbrake burnout today. car is way to solid to cut up so i'm keeping the 76 and selling my 63 falcon project.

I also have a fairly nice 62 4-door old bastard car that's a good driver. and a few of vintage 2-stroke bikes, and other stuff.

Since I'm the 'mechanic' in the family (have had old fords for along time over the years, but recently just got back into them) I have my hands full.

daily driver is an 02 F150 though. (parts hauler)

    here's 'ol blue'

very very solid car. since its a 250 car a v8 conversion down the road will b easy, but i AM going to build the 250 first as ive never hot rodded an I6 and it looks like a hoot. it drives very nice.

my plan is an good handling car with some HP but not ridiculous. fat tires on circle track wheels, frame connectors, lots of suspension upgrades and the usual 6 cyl hot rod stuff.

my other rides: the creampuff 62 falcon:

and the soon to go 63 falcon. for sale on the falcon board if interested or may trade for some junk. whatever. needs to go away.

    thanks for looking!

Mavericks and Falcons are my personal favorites. I like the wheels on your wife's 72, not sure I've seen a set like that before.

:Welcome: From Atlantic Canada! The floor pans on the 76 look to be in EXCELLENT condition! Personally, I'd swap the bumpers off the 72 onto the 76, put the V8 in it and call it a day! Very nice collection of cars though!! Thanks for posting pictures!!

Looking forward to a Build Thread when you start one!

i plan on going with small bumpers on the 76, maybe. entertaining the thought of a pushbar on the front and going kind of mad max on the 76, not sure yet. :stirthepot: def going to lose that door ding trim as it just looks crap to me, never liked that. kills the line of the car IMHO

the 72 is actually 95%+ as solid as the 76 beleive it or not. only has one or 2 pinholes in the drivers floor that was due to a small water leak we found and fixed. when my wife wirewheeled the pans she found them, so we naval jellied them and sealed it. the rest are solid. the trunk in the 72 is perfect but the lower passenger bottom on the 76 trunk has the all too familiar pinholes we need to address, but not bad enough to require cutting. some brazing will fix it easily. its actually amazing to find 2 of these this rust free, even down here. and they were both local cars. and since neither was ever in a wreck its even more amazing.

thanks for the compliments. I'll def post pics on the build for the 76 and some for the 72.
