You would think someone would take the time to do a ste up on headers that would fit better. Way to close for comfort.

there are headers out there that "fit better".. but they bend too hard coming right off the flange when doing so.

Of course it depends on what rpm you want to squeeze out of a motor.. but I'll take headers that rub and cut my fingers when changing plugs.. over ones that don't and end up hurting flow potential any day. Just not enough room to have much cake here. Much better than manifolds though.. so there's that. (y)

Thanks, long tube headers? I see you had to dent the tubes in a little bit to fit in the tower. How much modification around the steering box?

No mods around the steering box...I didnt do the "denting" The gorilla who did the swap (very poorly I might add) made the dents. I would have done it differently If I were the one to do the swap.

Crites makes headers for the 351w motor, you have to do a few mods to get them in but they work(1 3/4 tubes).Does anyone know if you can get a short oil filter to go on the 351,as the fl1a won`t fit because it`s to long.I really don`t want to run a remote & the shorter 1 won`t hurt me on a race mtr because I`ll be changing the oil a lot anyway.

Those Crites headers probably won't fit a 302 huh? Maybe with spacers?

Wow is that congested - my Cleveland was tighter but a different engine all around - just wish I had cut back the towers on my original build :)
