Hi, Im Rick and im looking to get a Maverick. I had a 1970 Maverick when I was 19 and had to sell it when finances got really bad through college. I am 24 now, out of college, a teacher, and ready to find another Maverick to call my own.

I am located in St. Pete Florida (near Tampa) and there isnt much around here. I have looked at a 77 Comet, but it is over priced at $3000 and the guy wont budge. I think I want to stay with the early years anyways.

If anyone knows of someone selling their Maverick in good driving condition, I will be willing to drive a few states and pick it up. I have the next 2 weeks off for Christmas Break, so now is good timing.

Any leads are appriciated... and if anyone knows how to get ahold of Catch22 from Fort Worth, let him know I am interested.

    Thanks!
    Well, my search has ended.
Thanks to dudleygray (Pete), I have a 1971 Grabber on its way from TN.

I would have went and picked it up, but couldnt find anyone to drive with me, so im having it shipped in. Should be here in just a few days.

I have a feeling I will be on here quite a bit from now on. I have learned a lot in the 4 days that I have been a part of the forum and im sure I am going to need to learn a lot more.

Welcome, and congrat's on the car! I know just how you feel. I bought my first Grabber new in '74. Sold it in '88. Bought another one in '02. Between that time I had a '74 4 door. I just can't stay away! We vacationed in St Pete two years ago. Its a beautiful place! We plan to retire in central Florida within five years. If you see a white '74 Maverick Grabber with black stripes It just might be me! Enjoy, you will be happy here! Joe

Great find.:2_thumbs_ It will look fantastic once the body and paint work is done. Are you going to keep it the same color?

Hey Rick...that's a good looking car. You did good. (y)
As for changing your name I don't think it will effect your posting numbers. I guess to be on the safe side you might want to ask Stefan before you do so. Even if it did you won't lose that many. If I were you I would definitely use the new name. I think that one would be cool.

I was thinking about keeping the same color. Who knows... ill probably change my mind 100 times before it gets to that point.

as for changing my name, i tried and someone else already has that name. Maybe some variation of it...
    Who is Stefan?
