all many if not all of you by now now my oldest boy as curb hopper well tuesday were going to go pickup a super clean maverick grabber shell if all goes right.
we already seen the shell when we went to pick up my comet gt
when we bring it home we intend to cometize it (couldnt help my self cometized lol) were going to strip down his rusty comet and rebuild the new maverick. everything about the car will be comet other than the shell. it has already been worked over and painted a real nice blue and has rino liner sprayed throughout the car to prevent rust.

so if we get the maverick Im going to start calling him ship jumper since hes getting a maverick lol

wish curb hopper er I mean ship jumper luck :thumbs2:

he got the name curb hopper because we were at a car show last year and he was revving his engine and the car jumped into reverse with no one in the car and got stuck on a curb so the name curb hopper stuck :rofl2:

okay the deal is set in stone were going to get it today.
its going to cost $200 for a rust free grabber with none of the following....hood grill fenders motor trans drive line windows trunk tail lights bumpers interior or rear end but it is a grabber by the vin and is on a non op with dmv so I think hes getting a really good deal even if it is a maverick lol

we have to travel 3 hours one way to get it but that $100 is on me so ship jumper can have plenty of money for what he needs.

Ill post pics when we get it home

correct me if I'm wrong here.. but I thought the VIN didn't have anything in it to denote a Grabber from any other model?.. well.. maybe other than eliminating the chance by having the smallest 6 cylinder.

No the Grabber has a 93 in the vin, that's how you tell, at least on the 71 and up.

We where all at a car show in northern California for the summer and his boy was revving up his motor and the notorious shift linkage in maverick/comets are extremely loose and it slipped into gear and took off backwards over a curb, and into the street damn near causing a car accident. It wasn't a very pretty site and the entire show was focused on him and his car in the middle of the road. A lot of pissed off people and thankful people that the car didn't go forward and ruin some very nice 50-60's pick up trucks.

Afterwards he gave him the nickname Curb Hopper It is more so a joke for those of us who where there that freakin hot day :)

Yep, 1970 has nothing in the VIN to tell you it is a Grabber :)
