What size tubing are you guys using for the line from the m/c to the slave cyl, on a hydraulic clutch set-up? Is regular brake line tubing(1/8 inch) acceptable?
Brake line size I tried -4 hose and it was a bear to push the pedal. I dropped down to a dash 3 and now its so easy you think there's nothing on the other end. Easy pedal.
I'm using a 30" braided stainless hose from master to salve... Is there any reason to use a hard line ?
You want to keep the amount of braided hose in you brake system to a minimum due to it causing a spongy feel. I have seen a high dollar build on the site that has braid line front to rear. I went to talk to a brake specialist, that is currently on the NHRA hall of fame, and it was an overwhelming don't do it. With that said 30" is a long stretch in my opinion. I am sure it will work but I would be afraid of a soft clutch pedal. A larger diameter brake line will also give you a soft feel.
I fail to see how line size could affect the pedal effort, as it only transmits the fluid between the pistons that do the actual work...
