So Im having a very bad vibration feel in my vehicle when I get into higher speeds and press in the clutch maybe 30-45 mph it starts to vibrate very badly and I can feel it on the steering wheel and drivetrain..I was thinking it was the u-joints so i replaced them and nothing changed..mounts on the engine and transmission look fine. (i just swapped out the transmission one three months ago). the vibration starts to go away when I slow down though...also when I press on the gas a about 5 percent it sounds like a grinding noise coming from the drivetrain too but I press it about 25-35 percent more it goes away..also its a t5 onto a 302 if anybody can give me advice on I'd appreciate it before I go and start buying stuff thanks!!
my tires do need to be changed out in the front..camber angle is making it eat up my inner tire more than the outside
Might be a bad throwout bearing. If it happens when you depress the clutch pedal, then the bearing could be bad and seizing up. It will start to scream when it gives up. Hope you find it.
Its weird cause if i give it more gas it can go away but let go of the pedal it comes back right away...
I would look at the pinion bearing in the diff and the pilot bearing. Aside from that, what kind of shape was the T5 in when you installed it?
Did you check the diameter of the front bearing retainer on the trans with the hole in the belhousing? There are two different size retainers and a mismatch could cause the vibration. I once put a t-10 trans with the small retainer in a truck large retainer bellhousing and had the same problem. It felt like the dash was going to rip out of the car! Other possibilities are pilot bushing, tailshaft bushing, or pinion bearing.
check to make sure your clutch clevis (if you even have one) isnt adjusted too tight or loose your front end is eating up tires? get an alignment and balance some good tires.\tires out of balance can shake the car at certain speeds and then go away after speeding up or slowing down. the rear end could be shifting up and down when you step on and let off the clutch or gas putting a strain on the ujoints. if you have a squeal to go with the vibration I say its your throw out bearing
I took it out for another again around the block with my broinlaw and we think its the rear end. Pinion seal is leaking and when I checked to see if it had any fluid and it didnt so when I put some in thats when all the noise started to come and I run this car hard when I Race and its my dd. When I press and depress the clutch it still feels smooth to as well. Going to gear easily with have to press the clutch again to make it go all the way
The t5 was fully rebuilt this year but I ve had a problem where its hard to get into second at high revs so I jam it in and it works And new tires and alignment are needed too so im gonna do that as well
So I got my car aligned and changed out the tires in it as well it still makes the grinding noise when I press the gas in just a to keep it at a steady mph but if I give it more gas it goes away. It only happens at higher speed atleast over 60 but stop and go traffic I do not have the problem please someone help me
ive been finding people not setting the preloads on the input shaft and the cluster shaft correctly. this will let the gears have slop in them and be noisy under load.
it never did it for a whole year but now it started to make a clunk noise if I let go of the gas fast..
I did dog this transmission a lot so I guess its time for a rebuild I am switching to a 351w soon though too...anyone know a good rebuild kit that will handle it??
the gforce gear sets are strong but they do make noise. a 351 will easily have enough torque to brake the stock gear sets with abusive driveing
