How difficult are these Doug Thorley headers to install? http://www.summitracing.com/parts/dte-2681-c/overview/make/ford/year/1973/model/maverick
When I asked here on the forums the DTs were the unanimous choice... Should be able to tell you next week, though my plan is to have the driver side in place when the engine is installed... I found a seller on ebay that had them for $396 shipped, were here in less than a week...
I have them, I found the gaskets they came with, were pretty crappy, other than that, they've been awesome.
I installed mine with the engine already in the car. I recall jacking up the engine one side at a time to get in. No problems.
No, it says something to the effect that the picture isn't necessarily an accurate representation of the part.
I just put a set of copper gaskets on the new shorty's I put on my van. Nice stuff from Summit. Percy's are good too. If your headers have square ports I've got a brand new set of copper's that I cannot use, I'll let em go cheap.
I may be wrong, but the ones in the summit picture appear to fit high port heads. CrazyComet's look like the ones for stock 302 exhaust bolt pattern.
