i just put on 100 miles on my break in here is what happened

-its been smoking on me since it started
    -white smoke
-i have true duels and the right smokes really bad while the left smokes a wee bit

i thought maybe it was a head gasket leak but i checked and have 150 psi on all 8. Since its white smoke i was thinking i am burning water. but it does not over heat and im getting good pressure. i haven't lost any coolant though. could it be oil? the oil level HAD went down but i have a small pan leak so that's where the oil is going i think.

i am using this old fuel cell i bought from a guy. it had some gas in it. he said it was normal pump gas in it, did not put in diesel or any race fuel. i was thinking it could be that old gas but it does not explain why one side smokes more.

should i just run it out for a while and see what happens or stop because i might be damaging the cylinder?

any tips will be greatly appreciated. thanks
    nick

It still could be water. Is the exhaust temperature noticeably lower on the side with the white smoke?

What type of sealer did you use on the intake gasket around the water ports? I seen silicon sealer leak when used in this area. Of course we are assuming that you're seeing white smoke...not blue/grey or black smoke

I would advise against it. Coolant and oil make a nice concoction that eats bearings :(

289/302s tend to be a little troublesome in that department.

Use Permatex #2 and throw the silicone in the trash.

One thing I will add is that if your car is an automatic trans, check the modulator vacuum line for fluid in it. Sometimes the vacuum is taken from a port that is more to one side of the engine, so it will get more fluid in one side if the modulator diaphragm leaks. Also this smoke is almost white! I'd give that a quick check before taking the engine apart! I would think if it was water, the level would be dropping. :)
