Didn't know where to post this as it doesn't fit any particular thread/post. I'm looking at purchasing a parts car. However, he wants quite a bit so I need some idea regarding the value of parts. It is a 76 6 cyl with a floor shifted 3spd. Everything is there including the shifter, floor hump, linkage, trans, bellhousing, column, pedals etc. What would a reasonable value be for the whole package? But, not sure if the 6cyl parts are of any value? If I can get enough out of these parts I'll purchase the car. Thanks.

What size six cyl? The 250 bellhousing and starter fits a V8. You might get $500 worth of parts selling the rear end, transmission, clutch pedal setup, a few odd and end pieces and price of scrap iron. Finding a buyer here and there is a slow process. Getting a shipping cost and never hearing back is time consuming. I wouldn't spend over $250 for a parts car.

depends on how clean the car is and how many parts you intend to use.
if its a maverick you figure $100 for the grill not broken(comet grills not broken are EXPENSIVE) if it has bucket seats theres $200 if the tail lights are in good shape maybe $40 maybe you need a hood say $100 or fenders theres another $200 maybe the car has a good headliner theres another $100 maybe the car has good 1/4 panels you can cut off that would save you easily another $200
    then theres the doors $200
so theres $900 or so in parts so if you pay $3-$400 youre doing okay and that doesnt include the parts you could sell to get your money back after you kept all of the above mentioned parts

the power steering set up you could sell for $300
the power disc brakes are another $200 so theres $100 profit already if you get the car for $400

I would think if the car was in that good of shape, it wouldn't be a parts car...

The sheet metal, doors, fenders, quarters are rusty. The interior is black with bucket seats. The car has been sitting in a garage for about 25 years so the sun hasn't baked the interior. Typical WI car, nice interior with a lot of rust. At one time there were mice in there but it doesn't appear as if that is the case now. The only problem is it is difficult to tell if the seats are any good without taking them out (seats are what I need along with the belts). I think I would have to assume that hard parts are okay and anything with cloth-like material is probably damaged. With that said, I'm looking at kick panels, rear panels, lower dash, seat belts, and all of the parts mentioned in the first post. He is asking 800 but I don't think it is worth more than about 500.
