windshield replacement

I have a replacement windshield for my 74 maverick, should I attempt it with a couple friends or have someone do it for me? I've been told I should not attempt since I've never done this but how hard can it really be?

 

I did my front and rear glass installs, by myself.

For me yes it was, I have done a few in the past and have watched the pro's do a few, it helps if you have two people but I could find no one to help so it was all me, be sure you get the Butyl Sealer and use it, don't want any leaks, oh and gloves also, the rope will hurt your hands when you go to pulling it.

 

any tips for the metal window trim? I have the weather stripping and window sealant already

 

Just make sure your trim clips are in good condition, if not the trim will be a pain to get back on, I found out I had one bad clip after putting it all back on so I had to remove most of it and replace the clip, put it back with no problems.

 

You do have the black butyl sealer right? the urethane stuff is not the way to go.

 

do it yourself...it's going to leak either way...

I did my front and rear myself, an extra hand for the windshield would of definitely been nice!
