I just got my rear disk conversion kit in. Can't wait to get cooler weather so I can install it and get my car all back together and back on the road. Gonna be like a completely different car!!! :bananaman
Vintage Venom http://www.vintage-venom.com/ My kit is the one on the very bottom of this page for $650 http://www.vintage-venom.com/disc-brake-conversion-kit-order-now.htm But i got them from a member on here who bought the kit then decided to go with 13" brakes, instead of these 11s. Same member who sold me the 11" front disk kit.
They make nice stuff, you'll be happy with it, does it increase the width of the rearend now? Some of their kits are designed for newer wheels, with a positive offset.
No, this kit keeps the same rear width so I don't have to change the rims. Just pulling it out of the box and reading the instructions, looks like good equipment and quality workmanship. But it DOES use 94-04 Cobra Mustang calipers, actual Ford parts.
I ended up with Explorer stuff, even after paying $150 for the brakes on E-Bay and buying new rotors, hardware, & spacer material I still have around $375 in it all...
I think you did good on the pricing and the parts are new. It is nice to find complete kit without having to piece part something together.
I know what you mean. Jeff found a set off a Grand Marquis at Pull-A-Part for $40. had new calibers, pads and rotors, got the brackets and E-brake cables...all Ford stuff...
It will have drilled and slotted rotors at the back and plain ones up front. Single piston caliper in back, double up front. Hopefully my current proportion valve will be fine, but worst case scenario I can slap in an adjustable one if the braking doesn't feel right.
