So I recently did a stock carb and intake manifold upgrade to a edelbrock performer intake and Holley 1850 4 barrel carb. Now my shifting on my automatic transmission is late. I don't leave first till about 40mph and I don't hit 3rd till 60. I don't think that's normal and it makes my engine and tranny work harder. How could I fix this? I was thinking maybe a vaccume modulator on the tranny needs to be replaced with one made for a four barrel carb.

Sounds more like the line to the modulator is disconnected or pinched shut, carb choice should not have a major effect...

Wait maybe its not connected. I have vacuum advance, pcv, and power breaks. Should it be ported to the carb or intake?

Connect it straight to manifold vacuum... Only the carb will connect to ported vacuum...
