You could see 8s if the suspension holds up in the rear..... 1000hp and 3300lbs( quick est) = fast as hell:bananaman Im impressed
That's what the computer programs seem to predict. I'll take the wait and see approach though. And this could be 20 lbs of crap in a 5 lb bag! It's ripping at all the seams!!!
The only picture that I can dig up on short notice was in this thread... http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=26441&page=2 It's in post #19 and it's not the best pic but you will get the idea. I'm since changed from the -10 feed line that is in the picture to -12 for the E85.
Late as hell But, better late then never!!! anyways love the build, i'm going to be following the build!!!! nice work
Tony, I'm building a 70 right now with the exact same rear suspension, exept slammed about 3 inches with a manual 4 speed and every one I talked to said it can handle 8's all day long BUT, run a 30" tall tire!!!!!!!!! So I'm going thru the trouble to make them fit....
Hey Eric! I was too cheap to change the wheel wells. I really should have minitub'd it and relocated the springs. But that can be a future change. I really just want to get this thing going after all this time. I think that I'm just down to the cold side for the turbo, and that should be simple...(watch how that statement burns my butt!). So are you going to do a build thread like you did for the last car? We wanna see!
Yes I am, I've just been collecting parts got my new AJE front end and all the call trac stuff, so it will probably go to the chassis guy(same guy that did other car) in about 2 months, then i'll start putting pics up, because he builds em fast!!!
I finished it about a year ago with the blow through carb. I took it to a bunch of car shows getting it dialed in. I fought with the E85 and thought that I had finally licked it when they closed all our drag strips in the Phoenix area down. So I was looking at a primarily a strip car that I couldn't race. It's a little too rough to be a car show type car. Anyhow, I finally decided that it was time to do something different. I always enjoy building things over just showing them. So anyway, long story short I decided to go fuel injection instead of carburation. The last several months I've been working on that. It's slow going because of money issues, but I've got all the big expensive parts now. It is down to a bunch of small stuff and a ton of wiring. I expect it to be more consistent and reliable with the injection, but the turbo and everything else is still in place awaiting the mechanic to get it done. Things could probably be going quicker from the install standpoint, but it is summer in AZ and that is pretty much what you guys go through in Jan and Feb (albeit with a 100 degree difference in temperature). Things will be progressing again and I've even spent some time the last couple nights in my garage prepping things.
Your build looks great Tony, but if I were you I`d tubb it soon. You are going to want to get the most tire possible on the ground to control it.When big nitros& turbos go wrong it gets bad real quick.I`ve watched many race cars over the yrs. w/ 15in slicks out back crash w/ less power than you`ll have. When the turbo w/ nitros kick in things can become violent,I want to see you have fun w/ the car,not get hurt and have a pile of junk.BE SAFE
