The grill & hood look just like on my 73 Comet. I don't think I've ever seen a Comet without the hood emblem.

Andy, I may have a spare gas cap laying around & a '74 Comet hood. I'll check & let you know.

I'll need an address & zip code, so I know where it's going. That way I can get a shipping quote.....

    door panels, avocado two door

I could really use the door panels from that green colored car in the first pic if they are avocado with woodgrain insert. I would be GLAD to pay you for your efforts!!

They are in there but I don't remember if they had woodgrain trim. That is an LDO car. Did all 73 LDO's have woodgrain? They were complete with door handles and arm rests. Also, that drivers door does not close tightly so there may be a water damage issue. I'll check it out for you. I did not think I would be going back anytime soon. But if we don't start getting winter around here I'll have a little time after Christmas to get back over there. I want to do an extensive search for any "K" code 289's, "J" code 302's, and anything that falls into the "Cobra-Jet" and "Super Cobra-Jet" catagories. I would love to find a solid mid '60's Galaxy to stick away for a future project.

(shhhhh - don't tell the wife)

Thanks Acornridgeman! To answer your question, from the limited understanding I have about these cars, that car is not an LDO. I could be wrong, but I think the thin side moldings indicate it has something I have heard referred to as the "exterior decor group", not the Luxury decor option. I would assume this car also has the woodgrain door panels because that was part of the interior decor group, a slightly dressed up interior package that as far as I know was usually installed in tandem with the exterior decor group. I don't know for sure though. As far as the water damage goes, I miraculously need the passenger side much more than the drivers side. I definately need armrests though for both. I bought a bunch of avocado interior parts from the infamous Arnold Halverson, aka jetliner54 and received nothing after sending my $$, so I have already resigned myself to the fact that this will not be a quick restoration. In other words, no rush! Any help will be VERY much appreciated. If you could take more pix, especially interior would be great too! Thanks, J
