1970 tanks are nearly impossible to find. If it only has a couple of holes...just get it repaired.

    :Welcome:

There was just a guy selling one in the classifieds - it is the smaller 14 gallon tank used with the emissions system in some 1970 cars.

The shops around where i live said they can't fix it because it had gas fumes in it. I'm still ganna keep looking tho to find some shop that will fix it. JB weld and duck tape is what is keeping the gas in for right now haha.

I'll be selling my 70 bolt in tank sometime in the future because I've gone to a fuel cell but not until I'm absolutely certain that I will not need it again. But even though my tank does not leak or have rust through issues, it would still need to go to a radiator/tank shop to be cleaned inside due to old gas stains coating the inside of the tank. My question is can you even ship a gas tank by normal shipping companies :)

No...you can not ship a used gas tank due to the fumes. Yes...I know people have done it.

Bonz23....keep looking around, any "good" radiator shop should be able to fix it.

Here's and idea, the way we remove jet fuel from parts prior to turning them in for repair is soaking them in safety kleen solvent to remove the fuel and fumes. We used to use Stoddard Solvent but due to the vapor pressure uncle sam won't use it anymore. Another idea. Is using 10/10 oil and fogging the inside. That's how we preserve external fuel tanks.
