This is for Dan Hines, but I thought others might benefit. Here are pictures of an original aluminum wheel on a 1974 Grabber. This car only had 27,000 actual miles and still had the original tires on it. It was a car I looked at buying, but he wanted $7500 for it. The lugnuts are kind of long. I hope this helps.
Thanks - do you know if these are the MAG wheel style nuts with the shank that actually goes into the hole and you use a washer?? Or are they like standard lug nuts that do not go in the wheel hole just on the edge. Dan
Hey Dan I'd say by looking at the picture that it uses the acorn style nuts, because of the recessed holes around the lug nuts.
I really don't have any idea. Maybe if you called a Mustang place, like the Paddock, that sells these rims reconditioned for Mustangs....maybe they sell new lugnuts for these wheels.
I have never seen factory applications using the shank nuts before. I may be wrong, but I thought only aftermarket wheels used that arrangement.
