top of engine

    1972 ford maverick
    So the top of the engine it has like a cap looking thing on it. Like dead center of under the hood kinda in the back a little bit. Theres a hose that comes out of it, kinda thik hose and its not attached to nothing on the other end. The hose is about a foot long. Any help? For sone reason I cant upload picks from my phone so I cant post a pic

    That hose should connect to your air cleaner housing.

    I thoight only fuel injected cars have air cleaner housings
