Hello I am new to this forum, and all forums frankly. I am 18 and live in southern Missouri and have just bought a '73 maverick grabber about 2 weeks ago. I really like the maverick and hope to fix it up, but I am having trouble finding parts for it and thought this would be a good place to get information on my new car. Hopefully I'll have better luck than I have had scouring the internet .
from Wisconsin. You can find just about any part used, here in the forum classifieds. Just post a "parts wanted ad" when you need something and somebody here will have it. If it is a new part (NOS) you need, that can be a bit tougher to find. There are a couple vendors supplying parts for these cars but not much is reproduced. Also, some parts for the Mustang crossover to these cars but the list is pretty short. A little advice. When you do start working on your car try and do a little at a time. Biggest mistake I see from a rookie is jumping in and completely tearing apart an entire car and getting overwhelmed by the size of the project. Soon they lose interest and the project ends up sitting in pieces until they completely give up and scrap or sell it. Bought many "give up" projects in this condition.
Welcome from Ky. What part of Mo. are you from? I grew up in Gainesville, and there are a couple members in Springfield and Joplin. Good luck with your car.
Thank you for the advice Acornridgeman. Apart from the maverick I have a 1929 model A that I did exactly what you said not to do. This time around I plan to take it one step at a time so it doesn't end up in pieces like the Model A.
Welcome to the site,I would attack the body first getting any rust under control,if you have a good body you have everything.
