ok.. was fooling round with the heater at work today... vacuum is ok. far as i can tell. need to replace the one vac line that goes from manifold to firewall tho. but switches appear to work... any way to check this door without dismantling the dash? the cable works jsut fine but cant tell if any door is opening. the cable operates a vacuum switch. still at a loss. at this point im ready to try dismantling the entire thing to figure it out... its coooold!!!!

did findout one thing tho.. the heater hoses going to the heater core. one is way warmer than the other.. that make a difference??

Sounds like the heater core is pluged. might want to try to swap the heater hoses around. Reversing the coolant flow thru the core MAY unblock the core. It's a cheep trick to try. But sounds like it maybe time to replace the core. Russ
