I took this when I got rid of the car. which was a 72, V8 Grabber, auto on floor, air, black interior, bucket seats and 3:00 rear. Hated to see it go, but it was not worth saving Russ
Depressing......Maverick.....I can relate! Got the 414 put together and ready to drop in. Went to slide the powerglide onto the engine, guess what? Crank pilot adapter is missing. I've turned the place upside down looking for it, must've gotten lost somewhere between here & the machine shop most likely. So, now I have a (hopefully) 700hp engine on the floor, a ready-to-run powerglide, and a Maverick that's ready to accept it at any time....but a cheezy little piece of steel holding it all up. Bad part is, the adapter will ship tomorrow, which means it might be a week or so before it shows up. I hope it gets here before the holidays...otherwise it'll be after the first of the year (JW is closed Dec 23-Jan 2).
That kinda reminds me of this 72 Grabber I bought a few months ago. It was also very sad. Fortunately a lot of the good parts had been removed ( rust free grabber hood) and stored inside. The owner was supposedly going to restore this car and got as far as disassembly...then it sat outside for 10 years. He did spend quite a bit of money on it before he gave up. He bought every piece of front suspension and power steering components including control valve and p/s hoses, new carpet, rechromed front & rear bumpers, new Keystone mag wheels, recovered seats, new Holley 600 4V, new dash pad, and many more items. I got all of this along with a garage full of other parts, including engines, trannies, fenders, regular hood plus the above mentioned grabber hood, and so on. Okay, I'm finished gloating now. Here's a pic of the car I had to dispose of:
