Well, the engine I just dropped in my Maverick is knocking, so my good friend offered me a fuel injected '88 GT mustang engine if I will take it out, a light bulb went off in my head, I've always wanted to mock a turbo up on my Maverick, could this be my chance, or is it already too crowded with the fuel injection? What are people using for the export bar since the originals are too wide? Can anyone give me some ideas on what turbo to use and other parts to make it work? I can make all my tubing. Also with the fuel injection, what ECU do I need to use to make sure no check engine lights go off and so I can tune it with the turbo?

It can be done, just follow my build thread I'll be throwing multi port on there some time later this month. As for ecu don't even bother with the stocker I'm going to he using megasquirt with mine. I'm going to have to make new strut tower braces probably going to use some Dom tube with hiem joints on the ends

I'm not familiar with megasquirt personally, but on mine I will be running the afm piggyback system. I already have it, just haven't gotten to play with it yet!

That's the one- and I did not pay that much for mine!! I got it used for half that! They are supposed to be phenomenal, and from everything I have read over in the manual, they are! One thing to keep in mind with that system, is that it is a piggyback computer, so you still have to run the 'stock' computer (I have a A9L to run with mine). Periodically these come up used on Ebay, and once I found one on the local Craigslist (mine now!!!).

I am extremely interested in how you go about making new braces. I'll definitely be following your build.

I think I paid roughly $550 for ecu and relay board, but I bought the assembled megasquirt II. You can save close to $300 if you buy the kit. I went with the assembled one cause I'm impatient and was afraid I'd screw something up. As for harness go to the junk yard and get one off an efi 5.0 for the connectors and run wires as you please. Check out this web site and read the mega manual for your requirements.http://www.diyautotune.com/
